All week long I have drawn and erased feather after feather unable to capture what I am looking for! All my feathers look like plant leaves! I have googles images of them but nothing is working -oy vay!
Any suggestions from all my lovely blogging friends?
My thoughts are with you all, hoping you have a wonderful weekend!
Big hugs and many blessings...

Use a real feather as a stamp - a peacock feather would be fabulous! Perhaps a fine line marker with many tedious lines to comprise the feather or even using pointalism would be interesting. The plus to a peacock feather would be its distinctiveness.
knowing you, the finished product is going to be AMAZING. I can't wait to see it
I just found a YouTube video that has helped me (a bit, need practice still). Her name is Jullia H. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=daa2G-FkbGI
If link does not work, I just searched How to draw feathers. Hope this helps.
Hi, Kelly. Have you looked at my Archangel Gabriel painting? I tried putting on Heavy Gloss Gel medium to create textures and painted with silver acrylic paint on top and it seems to be quite effective. Just passing on in case it helps =)
I don't know what medium you're using for your feathers, but I'm going to guess acrylics. Try a drybrush technique. If you're using colored pencil, try a stylus or non working ink pen and applying the color on top. Hope this helps.
Hi Kelly!! Thanks for your visit!! I loved catching up on your blog and all your beautiful pages!! As far as drawing feathers, I usually paint my feathers. Definitely does take practice. I love how you can research anything on the internet that always helps. So happy to visit you today! It made my day~ Theresa
Hi Kelly,
I am sorry its been so long since my last visit.. Many things happening..but doing fine..
Love all of your latest postings and to let you know your blog is cool too! ♥
I never knew that feathers would be difficult to draw. Now you make me curious to get out a piece of paper and pencil and see what I can do. Sure hope you figure it out Kelly! I love drawing small things. Have a great day and thanks so much for the comment. :O)
