Visual Diary Calendar - June 2010

I have been working on this page for just over a month, obviously because it is a visual diary/calendar of June 2010 so I could only work on one day at a time. When I was first introduced to Composition Books I began to create a mood journal to track my moods and I made a calendar for a year but then I never filled out my moods. This calendar is more of a visual diary with drawings of activities I did for each day. I guess it a way it tracked my mood too: FRUSTRATED for the entire month as I was going through intense physiotherapy and accupuncture and trying to get into the Calgary Chronic Pain Clinic for Fibromyalgia. I may continue to create calendar months like this as I am hoping they will be more positive in the months to come!
I first saw this idea in "1000 Artist Journal Pages" and thought this would be a fun project to do. As stated in the link above I highly recommend this book if you are creatively blocked. There are so many amazing artists featured and the ideas that come from them just stream out - you will be blocked no more! lol.
I hope all of you have a fabulous weekend in whatever you find yourselves doing!
Happy Creating everyone!

I love this idea. And I may just "steal" it. I also have FM and I must say I recently found a technique that has made me feel so much better. Cranial Release Technique. They have a Web site. I have more energy than I have had in 30 years and some of the pain is gone. I wish I'd been keeping a calender like your's to document this change. Good luck with your treatments.

Hi Kelly,
You have a nice blog and your journal art is great. Thanks for dropping by my blog and leaving a nice comment about my mural.
Nice to meet you and I'll be back to look around your blog.

Hope you have a better July, Kelly! Great way to log your days. Remember to log the little things as well as the big things. The little things are often the happy ones!! Loved looking at your journal. Leanne.

I find it so interesting that all of us with Fibro seem to be so creative!
I love the page and what a fabulous day! For a while I did a body scan journal to help describe to my doctors what I was feeling and when. It is great for tracking things - symptoms and everything else!

I am really admiring this art. It makes me think of a book I saw titled "An Illustrated Life."
I know several people who live with Fibromyalgia. I think some recent tv ads have finally come up with a way to explain this very mysterious affliction in words the every day person can understand. I understand half the battle has been getting people to take it seriously. If I can't see your pain you must be imagining it- complex! Good luck to you!

I really have to read this book. It doesn't do a lot of good sitting on my shelf but I've been busy doing art classes too much! Your page came out really neat. I love the colors and the idea.
