Yep, I'm Doing it! Nanowrimo!

So you are probably wondering, "Hey, where's Kelly been?" right? Well, I've been around, on my computer mostly. Not doing my usual routine that's for sure.

The other day I told my son about the NaNoWriMo for National Writing Month of November. I don't know the details but I told him the basic idea of writing 50,000 words in 30 days. We started on November 8th, 2010 and have done pretty good so far. Ben is writing a Sci-fi/fantasy novel and I am writing a Christian Fiction novel. I am up to just over 8,000 words and am amazed that I have gotten this far. I don't know what the end results will be but in the mean time I am spending some wonderful quality time with my thirteen year old writer.

So if you've been wondering... that's what I've been up to. I will still check in every now and again. I hope you are doing awesome and having an absolutely fabulous weekend.

Hugs and many blessings and as always... Happy Creating!

How cool is that! Something else we sort of have in common. Although I am not as brave as you. I dream of writing - and I do in my journal and occasionally on my new blog, but I don't quite know how or what I'm working toward, if anything. I'm so very new at the thought. I love Christian fiction! It's very good that you're working alongside your son. Keep up the good work! Bless you, Deborah

Hi Kelly, I'm glad you enjoyed my post about how to celebrate Christmas without stress. Wow, you have such an interesting blog! I'm so impressed that you are writing a book. My son is a true novelist. He's been trying to write novels since he was about six.

He's been writing ever since. I write poetry and music with the same intensity that he writes stories.

You really inspire me. Every single time I send out a Christmas newsletter, relatives write back saying I should write a book. ( I guess about life with five kids. I crack a lot of jokes whilst telling of our adventures.) We've also been through some horrendous trials in our lives.

Almost, you make me think that perhaps I should actually attempt this some day.

Thanks for sharing your writing adventure!

Hi Kelly, I'm afraid you've got me on a roll now. But I'm so excited! I decided today to write about Thanksgiving dinner..and was amazed at what popped up in my mind.

I wrote basically an essay, for the first time ever on my blog. I sometimes write long posts about things on my mind..but never just for the fun of writing. I was afraid I couldn't actually do it.

Thanks for the encouragement! Your comment was so sweet. :o)
