Art Heart & Healing

I have joined the free online course of Art Heart & Healing over at Willowing and have managed to successfully do lesson 2. I am really enjoying her free lessons and I think I will follow it up with one of her other courses, possibly the 'Whimsy'. This past week she gave a lesson on 'whimsy' girls and the above is what I produced from that lesson. These gals are so different from what I am used to, but boy were they fun to create!

The first part of the lesson was much more emotional for me. We had to find pictures of ourselves when we were children and then create a list of what we "Wish for" that child. Oy vay did I have a problem with this one... it brought up all sorts of emotions that I wasn't prepared for! Anyway... I muddled through it okay. I followed her steps in transferring images and managed to transfer three images to my spread. I don't know if I like this technique too much as it rubbed a lot of the image off, but it also represents my childhood because my childhood is faded because I am a completely new person... so I guess it works out well.

Hopefully I will get to tomorrows lessons this week and not two weeks from now! LOL!

Here's hoping you are all having a wonderful week! Happy creating with many blessings!

Kelly,
I love your little girls. They are so cute. I'm doing the class too but I'm having all kinds of problems. My transfers didn't work at all so I went and got another book to start over. I think I was just too impatient and didn't let them dry enough.
I look forward to seeing more of your girls.

Tam is wonderful! Journaling is such a great way to help us express things that can be hard for us to talk about.

Your pages look great! I'm also "doing" Tam's class but I'm just gathering my info and haven't started any of the projects yet.

I think Tam's free class is one of the best I've taken! She is very generous with her information.

Your little whimsey girls are SO precious. I haven't done the page of me yet but I plan to do that soon. I am enjoying her class and I might also take her whimsey class.

Your wee whimsy girls are fabulous! I adore them!

I was hoping to take the class also, but the videos would eat all my months broadband in one hit. :(

Love your whimsical girlies - what fun! Yet such a contrast to your journalling pages - goodness, powerful stuff: that Tam's classes can evoke such raw tenderness and an 'allegorical' shadowy quality too. As your post title suggests, I trust that the journalling exercise has been healing: helping you realise how far you have come and how much the heartache of childhood has been soothed.

P.S. I hope you don't mind, but I made a clone of your kitty on my blog, too. She's so cute.
