For Madelyn ~ Need Feedback Please

Hello everyone. I hope you have all had a wonderful weekend.

I have a little request... would anyone like to give me a little feedback?

I am creating a picture for my friends daughter Madelyn, her bedroom is pink/brown and white. I created the picture with those colors in mind. What I am wondering is... do you think it's finished or is there still something needed in the background. I didn't want to make it too busy~busy, but not too bare either. Do you have any suggestions for me?

I would so much appreciate any feedback. Thanks so much all you lovely blogger friends of mine. Blessings to you for your brand new week!

Hi Kelly

Love your art/blog. I think the picture is perfect! The only tiny suggestion I would have, perhaps there is a way to add a little sparkle.

Otherwise it's truly a little girls room perfect artwork.

Very cute. Here are my thoughts... I agree with you that something is missing. I'm not sure it's the background though, as much as the upper left corner. Because of the boldness of some elements against the white, the upper left corner being the only empty corner, it causes the overall piece to look heavy. Or, really, the white upper corner ends up, for me, causing my eye to go there and right off the painting instead of my eye being drawn into the piece and moving around for a full view. Does that make sense? I think a couple of options might be: You can add something in the pink color in that corner or possibly another blue bird flying down but way up at the top directly above the hand of the princes but almost going off the edge. You might also consider doing a really light, monochromatic color in the background, sorta' mottled instead of white, maybe somewhat buttery but super light and splotchy. Not a solid color... but I'm not sure about that. Just a "what if?". I love what you have done with the flowers on the tree! Darling!

I think it is perfect the way it is. Your eye has a "place to rest" and I think that's important when viewing art...at least from my perspective.

Hi Kelly,
I like it...if you put more in the background I think you will lose your a bit from your foreground picture which is very pretty... hope this helps.. :)

You are very accomplished Kelly I wouldn't presume to tell you to add anything else, I would be very happy to receive it just as it is she's a lucky little girl. If you feel that something else needs to be added, leave it for a while then go back to it and see how you feel.It looks great.

Looks finished to me - it's absolutely beautiful. I LOVE all those pinks and browns and the pop of the bluebirds is perfect. The flowers on the tree are so pretty. I don't see how you could add anything else. It'll be interesting to see what others think.

Lucky Madelyn.

Thank you everyone for all of your wonderful and helpful comments. I am thinking I am finished as most of you think this. Now I just have to pick out a nice frame for her.
Hugs to you all. Blessings

What a wonderful painting, Kelly! Do you use markers or paints? I love the way you've drawn the flowers in gradated sizes flowing from the hand of the girl on the left. The third bird was a good idea. Things always look better in odd numbers. I know Madelyn will treasure your painting! Hugs, Terri
